About this Project

DriveLah is a two-sided car-sharing marketplace in Singapore and Australia that enables car owners to rent out their vehicles to individuals who need a car for periods ranging from as short as one hour to several weeks. As one of the pioneering projects built by Journeyhorizon using Sharetribe Flex, DriveLah presented a complex and challenging build, pushing the boundaries of what was possible with the platform.

In this marketplace:
  • Car owners act as sellers by listing their vehicles, providing details such as availability, rental rates, and vehicle specifications.
  • Renters, as buyers, browse these listings to find a car that suits their needs, whether for a short trip or an extended period.
The platform facilitates the entire process, allowing renters to book the car, communicate with the owner, and manage payments securely through the site.

The transaction on DriveLah involves a rental agreement between the car owner and the renter, which is managed through the platform, ensuring a smooth and secure exchange. Owners can set their terms and conditions for the rental, while renters can select the car that best fits their schedule and budget.

Although Journeyhorizon no longer support and maintain Drivelah, having helped transition the project to their own full-time internal team, however we have a strong and ongoing relationship with Guarav and his team.

Client Reference

Matt, Tri and the Journeyhorizon team were instrumental in the birth of Drivelah. Their innovation and ability to respond to our complex requirements enabled us to launch a product that could compete with international competitors with startup budgets 100x ours. The journey was not always smooth, we are a demanding client and some days we broke the Journeyhorizon team. But through positive working relationship and working together we solved problems and moved forward positively. Drivelah has built its own development capability now and the Journeyhorizon team helped make that transition possible, by training our new team members and providing support for really challenging technology problems. We had a great journey with Matt and Tri and highly recommend them if you are launching a new product.
